Jenny Finally Lost Her Tooth!

Here's a picture! She looks so cute! She's a little concerned because I told her she would actually need to sleep in her bed tonight and leave her tooth under her pillow for the tooth fairy - instead of sleeping on the floor!

First Day of School

Jenny enjoyed her first day of school. She was very surprised to find that Ms. Elmore is actually nice even though Brianna told her she was the meanest teacher. She did have one minor problem - she was left at school at the end of the day! Her teacher tried to put her on the wrong bus, and her regular bus came and left during that time, so she missed it. It was all resolved very easily - the school called daycare and they sent the bus back for her. I asked Jenny if she was scared during any of this. Lee and I have determined that we don't know where she came from. She said that she wasn't scared because she knew she wasn't supposed to get on that other bus. Fortunately, she refused and told her teacher it was the wrong bus. I thought she might have been upset, but she just mentioned it as a side note when she told Lee about her day - "Ms. Elmore is actually nice, but she didn't trust me about which bus I was supposed to ride." That was all she mentioned! Here are a couple pictures from day one.

Reagan is off the hook

Reagan has had a lot of really crazy conversations this weekend. One was on the phone with my mom the other night. Mom was planning to come down and take Reagan out on Saturday for a special treat, so Reagan wanted to talk to her. She spent a lot of time asking mom what the name of her house is and where Pee-paw (my dad) was. Of course Reagan said, "My grandpa is upstairs going poo-poo!" Then she said in response to something, "Boo-boo, that is off the hook!" It's much more amusing if you can see her face when she says it. She really says it with attitude. She has also found a new way to embarrass me by screaming out her favorite line from Without Love on the Hairspray soundtrack - "Now I've tasted chocolate, and I'm never going back!" She screamed it when I was ordering food at the drive-through the other night. There's never any warning. I hope there are other people who have crazy children who understand what it's like.

Jenny's Masterpiece

I was walking upstairs to take a bath a little while ago, and I noticed that Jenny had hung High School Musical posters all along the wall on the way up the stairs. I stopped for a moment to yell back to Lee to ask if he had noticed what she'd done. While I was waiting for him to come look, I noticed that one poster had fallen, and under it was what appeared to be purple nail polish. Of course, I yelled for Jenny at this point. I said, "Jenny, did you use nail polish to hang these posters?" She just looked at me and tried to come up with something. Then she said, "Actually it's not nail polish; it's eye makeup." I decided my best course of action would be to head up to the bath instead of yelling at her further.

She came to see me in the bath to explain what had happened. It went something like this.

"I wanted to work on hanging my posters, and I thought you and daddy seemed busy and I didn't want to bother you. So I used my makeup to make them stay and I thought they would stay up longer so you couldn't see. Or they would fall and I would have a chance to scrub the walls before you saw it."

I told her she had to clean it up and could not actually ever do that again. She told me she had already used soap and water to clean it up. I guess, on the bright side, it was probably easier to wipe off the purple eye makeup than nail polish!

Dance Pictures

These are some pictures from the dance parties that Jenny had with Laura - Reagan joined in every once in a while. Jenny believes that she taught Laura some moves, but I think it was the other way around. Jenny wanted to be the only one to dance with Laura, so Nicole was forced to participate in dance night one evening so that Reagan would have a partner. I have a couple videos to upload also, but I haven't put them on yet.

Adventures

We went to Tweetsie Railroad on Saturday - me, Jenny, Reagan, Jo-Jo and Laura. It was fun, but it's definitely more for little kids than grownups. Jenny got upset because she was too short to ride a couple of the fair rides they have. She even tried to stand on the tips of her toes to convince the guy doing the measuring that she was tall enough. But it didn't work. She had fun anyway, and she really enjoyed the train ride with the cowboys and Indians. We didn't think it was the most convincing show since the cowboys and Indians were obviously friends and were performing while eating giant freeze pops because it was hot outside. We actually had a cowgirl on our car, and when the Indian brought her on, she immediately offered him a bite of her freeze pop - I thought it took away from the drama, but Jenny just remembers him elbowing her in the stomach and forcing her to the back of the train, so I guess it worked for her.

Reagan was her usual self - she is her father's daughter. We had to convince her to go on the chair lift that was just like a ski lift to go up the mountain and look at things. Once we got her on there, she actually wanted to keep riding it because she realized it was safe. She refused to rise any of the little kid rides that Jenny rode even though she was actually too big for them. She rode the carousel twice and was very proud of herself. The rest of the time she made Jo-Jo hold her, and they sat around being hot and looking for shade. So the lesson we learned was that the two of them should not go to Carowinds with us. Reagan agreed immediately when I asked her about it.

Yesterday was our trip to Carowinds - me, Jenny, Justin, Nicole, Laura and Justin's friend Paul. Jenny was ready for anything and there was a lot she could ride. We did two of the smaller roller coasters first since she was allowed to ride them. Then we made the mistake of doing the log flume. It was a mistake for two reasons. One, once Jenny did one water ride, that was all she wanted to do the rest of the day. Two, my cell phone was in my pocket, and while it appeared undamaged, people can no longer hear me when I talk on it even though I can hear them. Maybe it will work better today. After that, Jenny seriously only wanted to do the water rides. We did manage to sneak off for a couple big roller coasters though. I thought it was a lot of fun, even though I walked around in wet clothes and wet socks and shoes most of the day, and it was a good last adventure for Jenny before school starts next week, and a good last fun day for Laura.

We take Laura to the airport this afternoon - we have really enjoyed having her here. I will try to post more pictures and videos of her and Jenny later. They have done several performances for us here most nights. Of course, Jenny is teaching Laura how to dance - not the other way around!

Laura

I thought I would finally post a picture of the girls with Laura. She just got back from a trip to Virginia Beach and New York with Justin and Nicole. She's just been enjoying a little dance party with the girls to the Hairspray soundtrack, but I didn't take a picture of the dancing.

Jenny Will Eventually Be Able To Do Whatever She Wants . . .

Jenny was just having a discussion with Lee and Jo-Jo about a conversation with one of her friends. Her friend Carissa told her that she gets to do whatever she wants to do. She asked Jenny if she gets to do whatever she wants to do. Jenny's response was, "Not until I'm like sixteen."

Jo-Jo and Lee were explaining that you don't get to do whatever you want at that point either, and that once you move on from the point where your parents tell you what to do, you still have laws and bosses that tell you what to do. They told her that you never get to the point where no one tells you what to do.

Jenny's response: "Yes, you do. When you're dead."

Conversation I'm overhearing right now:

Reagan: "I want to go to Wendy's!"
Jo-Jo: "Why Wendy's?"
Reagan: "For dessert!" (pronounced bessert)
Jo-Jo: "What would you get from Wendy's?"
Reagan: "Poo-poo."

Reagan is Crazy

Some of Reagan's comments from this evening:

-I want to go to Surf Carolina and see the Steelers!
-I want to go to Carolina where Charlotte lives.
-No, I want to see Steelers and basketball.
-I just want to see North Carolina basketball (this one made Jo-Jo happy).

There were more, but I didn't get over here to type them fast enough.

I feel a little bad that most of my posts about the craziness of the girls are focused on Reagan, but she happens to be a lot crazier than Jenny right now. Jenny's just rude and doesn't want to do anything but talk on the phone with her best friend, Brianna. And she gets very angry when I tell her that she's only six, and 6-year-olds don't talk on the phone with their friends every night.

Dance Party

The girls had a little dance party last weekend - just the two of them. I thought I would post a couple of the funniest pictures.

Both girls kept telling me they had new moves and asking me to take pictures. The next two were Charlotte's favorites:

Our new friend, Laura, is visiting from Spain for 3 weeks. We're having a lot of fun with her so far - especially the girls. It only took them two nights to decide that they needed to start sleeping with her at night. It's difficult for Laura to understand anything they say because Reagan's weird, and Jenny talks very fast and incorrectly, but they're having fun together anyway. I need to take a couple pictures with her to put on here later.

I have also started a Shutterfly collection that includes all our pictures because I have trouble remembering which ones I've emailed and haven't, and who I've sent them to. Here's the link:

Enjoy! I'll try to do better again about posting now that I'm not in such a busy week.

Update - The password is jennyreagan - sorry I forgot to include it!
