A Poem by Jenny

We got a letter sent home today that the following poem of Jenny's is going to be published in A Celebration of Young Poets. I'm pretty sure it's one of those things that everyone gets published in when they're little, but either way, it's really cute. Here it is:

Jenny Eure
Jenny
Cute, cool, smart
Daughter of Katie and Lee
Loves myself, Mom, Dad, Reagan
Feels shy, tired, joyful
Needs love,
Gives kisses, hugs
Fears getting lost
Wants to see Philadelphia, great-great-grandma
Resident of Pfafftown
Eure

Things I noticed:
-I like that she thinks she's cute, cool, and smart
-Lee likes that she loves herself first
-I think she wouldn't feel so tired if she'd ever go to sleep, and she's far from shy
-I don't know why she's afraid of getting lost
-Uncle Mario will enjoy the Philadelphia part - obviously she's looking forward to our summer trip
-We talked about the great-great-grandma comment - she's not quite sure who this is, but she would like to see her. She thinks I will be her children's great-great-grandma, so she obviously doesn't quite get that concept.

Other funny comment from today - Lee showed Jenny something that said he was from Winston-Salem, NC. He asked Jenny what NC meant, and her guess was Nickelodeon. And we're not even fans of Nickelodeon!
